The Honor Guard Company of the Minsk Military Commandant of the Armed Forces of Belarus, also known as the Honor Guard of the Armed Forces of Belarus is an honor guard unit of the Armed Forces of Belarus.

History

The Honor Guard of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus was formed on January 11, 1995 as a unit from the Minsk Air Defense and Rocket School and the Minsk Higher Military Command School.[2] The battalion performs at numerous events such as, wreath laying ceremonies, arrival ceremonies for foreign heads of state as well as the annual Victory Day Parades and Independence Day Parades.[3] It also takes part in ceremonies in celebrations in other countries, such as, Russia, France, Venezuela, Poland, Qatar, the UAE, and China. The battalion l is made up of 144 military men.[4][5] To become a member of the Honor Guard of Belarus, one should be at least 185 cm (6 ft 1 in), and have strong health features.[6] Daily training in the battalion lasts at least 6 hours.[7][8] The battalion commonly works with the Band of the Minsk Military Commandant's Office. The members of the battalion have also taken part in the 2015 China Victory Day Parade,[9] the 2010 Venezuelan Independence Day Parade, and the 2014 Bastille Day Parade.[10]
