The church is subject to the Apostolic Vicariate of Sodo (Vicariatus Apostolicus Soddensis ), which was inaugurated in 1982 by Pope John Paul II via the bull "compertum habentes".

The church is under the pastoral responsibility of the Bishop Tsegaye Keneni Derara.
