Programs within the FSoT enable students to grow as a professional in preparation for a career in technology or design. Apart from the applied science programming, students receive hands-on training from instructors with real-world experience.[7] Additionally, the curriculum within specific FSoT degree programs incorporate proper information students need to earn industry-recognized technology certifications, such as:

  • A+

  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

All degree programs within the Nichols School of Professional Studies are offered on campus and online.

Clinical Mental Health Counseling Accreditation

The Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) degree program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Graduates of this program are not only prepared to enter into professional counseling positions in mental health and substance abuse but are also eligible for candidacy for licensing as a mental health counselor in Florida.

Offered entirely online or in a blended, on-campus format, the CMHC program issues an annual report each year for stakeholders and interested individuals. From summer 2016-winter 2017, the CMHC celebrated its sixth anniversary. Since the program's beginning, 57 students have graduated from the program. In addition, CMHC alumni received an 85.7 percent NCMHCE licensure examination pass rate and 100 percent job placement rate for graduates actively seeking employment in 2016-17.[11]

School of Health Sciences

The demand for qualified health care professionals is growing nationwide, and Hodges' School of Health Sciences provides aspiring health care professionals with high-quality undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs, including biomedical sciences, healthcare office administration, physical therapist assistant, health services administration and nursing. Additionally, the School of Health Sciences offers certificates in biology, chemistry and long term care administration[12], as well as CPR certification programs.[13]

Physical Therapist Assistant Accreditation

The Associate in Science in physical therapist assistant (PTA) is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), and is the only program within the area that can be completed in two years or less. The PTA program's rigorous curriculum prepares students for the national licensing board exam that is required to practice in physical therapy.

School of Liberal Studies

The School of Liberal Studies offers English as a Second Language (ESL) programs, a college preparatory course for advanced ESL studies and an Associate in Science in professional communication. The school also houses the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), which focuses on Writing Across the Disciplines, and offers required courses for many of Hodges' degree programs. [14]

English as a Second Language

The English as a Second Language (ESL) is a certificate program designed to enhance a student's knowledge, training and job skills. The goal is to further a student's ability to communicate in English and pursue employment opportunities. Three 15-week courses per level focus on grammar, reading and writing, and listening and speaking. There are three levels (1-3) available. For students looking to further advance their English language skills, Hodges offers one 15-week noncredit, college preparatory English course, which is designed to provide instruction to individuals preparing to enter college or need to increase their knowledge of academic English for professional purposes.[15]

Intensive English Program Bridge

Non-native speakers of English interested in receiving instruction in academic reading, writing and grammar may enroll in the Intensive English Program Bridge (IEP). This program is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a college degree at Hodges.[16]

Campuses

In addition to the Naples and Fort Myers campuses, Hodges offers courses online and in an accelerated 7.5 week format.[17]

Library

Hodges University's Terry P. McMahan Library operates branches on both the Naples and Fort Myers campuses. Library services are available to university faculty, staff, students and alumni. The Library offers 24 study rooms (five on the Naples campus and 19 on the Fort Myers campus), which students may reserve for studying and/or group projects.[18]

Since 2003, the Terry P. McMahan Library has participated in the Federal Depository Library Program as a congressionally designated selective depository for U.S. Government documents (electronic documents only). Hodges is one of two federal depository libraries in Southwest Florida.[19]
