Hickey College is a for-profit career college in St. Louis, Missouri. It originally was founded in 1933 by Dr. Margaret Hickey, and has two campuses on North Lindbergh Boulevard near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. It has nearby housing for students but over half of students come from the St. Louis area. Hickey was located in Clayton, MO in 1991.

Hickey College awards diplomas, associate degrees, and bachelor's degrees. It states that it focuses on job placement for graduates and that financial aid is available for those who qualify.

In 2017 the college announced it was no longer accepting new students and would soon close its doors[2].

According to Peterson's and recent institutional publications, Hickey College has an undergraduate population of 396. Of 852 applicants, 615 (or 72%) were admitted. According to College Navigator, in the most recent reporting year the graduation rate was 81%.

Academics

Hickey College provides career-focused courses to high school graduates. Hickey College's programs generally offer hands-on learning opportunities that help prepare graduates to start working immediately. Some programs offer externships as well. Students can graduate in 8–12 months by earning a diploma. Associate degree programs can be completed in 16–18 months. Upperclassmen pursuing bachelor's degrees generally work during the day and take evening classes. Hickey College divides its nine major areas of study into four main categories: Business, Technology, Health Care, and Culinary/Design.

The tuition prices for Hickey College averages around $12,300 for every academic year, although 97% of the student body receives some sort of loan or financial aid assistance averaging $5,100 annually per student. The on-campus housing at Hickey College has capacity for about 200 students, and costs roughly $5,500 per year for each student.[3]

Accreditation

Hickey College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award diplomas, associate degrees, and bachelor's degrees. The Veterinary Technician program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA).
