Heptranchias is a genus of sharks in the family Hexanchidae.

Species

Fossil record

Fossils of Heptranchias are found in marine strata from the Cretaceous until the Quaternary (age range: from 66.043 to 0.781 million years ago.). Fossils are known from various localities in Europe, North America, South America, New Zealand and Japan.[3]
