Henrik Purienne (1977, Worcester, South Africa) is a South African photographer, film director, and founder of international fashion publication, Mirage Magazine. He is based in Cape Town.[3]
Work
Purienne began his career making documentary films[4] influenced by the realist aesthetic of filmmakers such as Eric Rohmer and John Cassavetes. His subjects are predominantly natural looking girls often set against beach- or poolside situations.[5][6]
Purienne has created advertising campaigns and editorials in his signature style for brands such as Louis Vuitton,[7] Maison Kitsuné,[8] American Apparel,[9] Maison Margiela,[10] Interview Magazine,[11] Playboy,[12] Vogue,[13] Lui,[14] and Purple (magazine) often featuring contemporary 'it girls' such as Sky Ferreira,[15] Emily Ratajkowski,[16] Camille Rowe,[17] and Aymeline Valade.[18]
In 2009 he launched the international fashion and culture publication Mirage Magazine.[19]
