Heilongjiang Lava Spring Football Club (Chinese: 黑龙江火山鸣泉足球俱乐部) is a professional Chinese football club that currently participates in the China League One division under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Harbin, Heilongjiang and their home stadium is the Harbin ICE Center Stadium, which has a capacity of 50,000. Their current majority shareholder is the Heilongjiang Volcanic Springs Green Natural Mineral Water Co., Ltd.

History

The club was original founded on August 25, 2014 when the local Sports Bureau of Anhui Province along with funding from the Anhui Litian Group (安徽力天集团) formed Anhui Litian F.C. while registration with the Chinese Football Association (CFA) was officailly completed on September 3, 2014.[1] In the clubs debut season they went on to win the 2014 China Amateur Football League East District Yangzhou division and participation in the China Amateur Football League where they ended finishing ninth.[2][3] After their successful debut season the clubs management were allowed to register the club as a professional football team and play in the third tier by the CFA.[4] In the clubs first season as a professional entity the owners were looking for an immediate progression up the Chinese football league pyramid, however the teams Head coach Shang Qing failed to deliver a play-off spot and was replaced by Ding Wei as a caretaker.[5] On July 1, 2015 Darko Nović came in as Head coach, however he too was unable to guide the club to a play-off position at the end of the season.[6]

On January 1, 2016 Heilongjiang Volcanic Springs Green Natural Mineral Water Co., Ltd. applied for the takeover and subsequent move to the city of Harbin.[7] On January 8, 2016 they were granted permission to move to Harbin and change their name to Heilongjiang Lava Spring F.C. by the CFA.[8] A new logo, kit design of purple from the previous blue along with a new Head coach in Zoran Janković and a move into a new home stadium saw them team still finish in a disappointing tenth at the end of the 2016 league season.[9] Duan Xin became the Head coach of the team on December 1, 2016 and he was able to guide the club into not only the play-offs but actually to go on win the 2017 China League Two division.[10]
