Headwaters School

Headwaters School is an independent school in Austin, Texas serving students from early childhood through grade 12.[1][2]

Headwaters School has three campuses, with the Early Childhood Campus (“Springs Campus”) on Manchaca Road serving ages 18 months through pre-K, the Elementary Campus (“Creek Campus”) on Brodie Lane serving grades Kindergarten through 5, and the Middle & High School Campus in Downtown Austin (“River Campus”) serving grades 6 through 12.[3][4]

History

The Khabele School was founded in 2001 and Primavera Montessori School was founded in 2002. The founding of both schools was influenced by the attacks of 9/11, and the desire to create a more peaceful world. In 2011, both schools merged. The merger resulted in the current three-campus school serving 538 students ages 18 months through grade 12.[2]

The Khabele School changed its name to Headwaters School on August 22, 2016.[5]

Student Body

Headwaters School opened with its largest enrollment of 538 students in the Fall 2016 semester.[5]
