Hard Powder is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Hans Petter Moland, from a screenplay by Frank Baldwin. The film is a loose remake of the Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance, also directed by Moland, and stars Liam Neeson, Laura Dern, Emmy Rossum, and Tom Bateman.

The film is scheduled to be released on February 8, 2019, by Summit Entertainment.

Premise

Snowplower Nelson "Mr. Plow" Coxman seeks revenge against a drug cartel in his Rocky Mountains hometown after his son is murdered by the gang.

Cast

Production

In January 2017, it was announced Liam Neeson had joined the cast of the film, with Hans Petter Moland directing from a screenplay by Frank Baldwin. Michael Shamberg will produce the film, while StudioCanal will also produce the film.[1] In March 2017, Domenick Lombardozzi, Emmy Rossum, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Laura Dern, William Forsythe, Julia Jones, and John Doman joined the cast of the film.[2][3][4][5][6][7] In April 2017, Aleks Paunovic joined the cast of the film.[8]

Filming

Principal photography began in March 2017, in Alberta, Canada. Filming took place in Fernie British Columbia. [9]

Release

In November 2017, Summit Entertainment acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film.[10] It is scheduled to be released on February 8, 2019.[11]

Similarities to The Simpsons

Shortly after the announcement of the film's release, numerous Twitter users compared the film's premise to The Simpsons episode "Mr. Plow", in which Homer Simpson becomes Springfield's snowplower.[12][13]
