Hafeez Tahir

Hafeez Tahir is a Pakistani TV producer, director and writer. He was director of popular children PTV serial Ainak Wala Jin.[1][2] He is a writer of two Urdu poetry books, ‘Aathwaan Rang’ published in 1980 and ‘Zair-e-Zameen’ in 1993. He wrote ‘Manzil Manzil’, a novel for children age 12 to 18 in 2017[3]. The novel was published by University of Management and technology press.

He was born in Lahore on 2nd of September 1947 and had most of his education in Lahore. He went to Islamia College Railway Road, Islamia College Civil LInes followed by National College of Arts and University of Punjab. He was founding member of Pakistan Peoples Party. He joined PTV in 1980 as production assistant and retired in 2007.[4]

He had Training in Program Production from PTV academy Islamabad and successfully completed International training course on Tv Programme Production and Management from MMTC (a jica project) Yogyakarta Indonesia,

During his tenure he directed and produced numerous programs in every format including Drama, documentary, music, Quiz shows, talk shows and programs for children.

Ainak Wala Jin was produced for three years and considered a classic serial which is a genre by itself.

He has got 6 PTV awards and two Graduate awards for drama, music and show productions.

He had been a consultant with Asian Development Bank and produced six instructional video for Punjab Police.

He is an accomplished still photographer and have bagged many award including the best photographer award by National Council of the arts in 1986 and six awards by National Press Trust.

He has worked as a media journalist for a week magazine Mumtaz, edited Palak and wrote columns in Daily newspaper Masawat.
