Gyrodactylus elegans is a species of monogenean parasitic flatworms in the family Gyrodactylidae.

It is reported parasiting the golden shiner (Notemigonus crysoleucas) in the wild[2] as well as the goldfish (Carassius auratus) in aquaria.[3]
