"Gummo" (also stylized as "GUMMO") is a song recorded by American rapper 6ix9ine, released to digital stores on November 10, 2017. It was released as the lead single from 6ix9ine's debut mixtape Day69 (2018). The single has peaked at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[1] "Gummo" was certified gold by the RIAA on January 11, 2018,[2] and then platinum on March 5.[3]

The official remix features a guest appearance by Offset and is also included on the Day69 mixtape.[4]

Music video

Once the song was released through SoundCloud and other media platforms, a music video was released on YouTube alongside digital releases. The music video, which features 6ix9ine in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, New York, also features various members of the Bloods street gang.[5] As of June 2018, it has over 280 million views.[5]

Controversy

The beat was produced by Pi'erre Bourne. When the song was released, Trippie Redd claimed he gave the beat to 6ix9ine, causing Pi'erre to announce he would no longer work with Trippie Redd because of 6ix9ine's sexual misconduct allegations. Pi'erre's lawyers later made 6ix9ine remove Pi'erre's producer tag from the song.[6]
