Guled Adan is a Somali innovator and reverse engineer based in Puntland. He gained fame in Somalia after becoming an inventor of electronic toys as a teenager.[1] He used material from discarded objects and as a 13 year old learned the mechanics of electronics by self-educating on real automobiles despite missing out on the bulk of his primary education.[2] Using reverse engineering from mechanical and electronic objects in his surroundings, he built an electronic plane, a truck, a fan and a light as well as other objects. He hails from the city of Buuhoodle. As a result of his exploits, the president of Puntland invited him to Garowe and promised to fund his studies.[3]
