Government Polytechnic, Adityapur is among one of the 13 Polytechnics located at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India[1]. Established in 1980, by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Bihar. the institute aims a promoting the academic growth among the tribal community in particular and to serve as a valuable resource for industry and society in general.

History

It was after bifurcation of Bihar and Jharkhand on 14th November, 2000 that came under Department of Higher, Technical Education & Skill Development, Government of Jharkhand. The institute is currently reaching new heights everyday under the guidance of Department of Higher, Technical Education & Skill Development, Government of Jharkhand. The Institute is totally funded by the state government.

Recent

The state topper's recently fraudulent testing incident was exposed at this institute in 2014.[2]
