Gorjana Reidel (born 1978) is an American jewelry designer based in Los Angelos. She co-founded the jewelry line Gorjana in 2004, along with her husband Jason Griffin Reidel.

Career

Before starting her namesake company, Gorjana Reidel worked with a Newport Beach jewelry designer and also in the jewelry department at Neiman Marcus.[1] Her designs have been described as delicate but with an edge, attracting celebrities such as Olivia Wilde and Jessica Alba.[2] In 2012, the Griffin brand was launched, focusing on accessories for men.

A leader in contemporary jewelry, the Gorjana line is found in many large retail stores throughout the U.S.A.[3][4] In 2016, the Reidels opened their first jewelry brand store in Laguna Beach,[5] followed by a second store in Venice Beach. The 2018 opening of another store in the West Village is their first in New York City.[6] They plan to open several more stores later on in the same year, targeting the New York and Californian markets.

Extracurricular activity

In 2014, Gorjana Reidel teamed up with actress Nina Dobrev to spread awareness about the disease epidermolysis bullosa.[7] In 2015, the Gorjana brand created a piece whose proceeds went towards helping African schoolgirls in Kenya.[8]

Background

Gorjana immigrated to the US from Serbia when she was a child. Both she and her husband are former models who each earned a degree in marketing from Arizona State University. They were married in 2003 and have two children.[9]
