Google Web Light

Google Web Light is a service offered by Google for faster browsing within its Android mobile browser Chrome. It detects slow speed such as 2G and switches to Google proxy servers with built-in data compression. It can speed up loading times for text-based websites.

This service is offered in select countries including - Indonesia, Brazil[1] and India.[2]

Criticism

Google weblight bypasses content filters. Without content filters, it may show up adult content or other harmful content to under-18 users.[3]
