GoodRx is a website and mobile app that tracks prescription drug prices and offers drug coupons in the United States. GoodRx checks more than 75,000 pharmacies in the United States.[1][2] The website gets about four million visitors a month.[3] In recent years, there has been ongoing debate over prescription drug prices in the United States.[4][5]
The Santa Monica, California-based startup was founded in 2011 by former Facebook executives Doug Hirsch and Scott Marlette.[6][7][1][8] Marlette was of the first 20 employees at Facebook, and he built Facebook's photo application.[6] In 2005, Hirsch was the Vice President of Product at Facebook, working closely with Mark Zuckerberg.[7] In 2017, Jordan Michaels took over as director of operations.[9]
In 2017, GoodRx announced partnerships with the major prescription drug companies in the country to negotiate and lower prescription drug costs.[10][3]
