Gong Jianya

Gong Jianya (Chinese: 龚健雅; born 1957) is a Chinese professor of computer science at the School of Geodesy and Geomatics, Wuhan University. He is known for various clonal selection algorithms[1] and 3D visualizations.[2] In 2001 he and his colleagues have developed vegetation temperature condition index which they used to study drought of Loess Plateau in Guanzhong.[3]

Early life

Gong was born in April 1957 in Zhangshu, Jiangxi Province, China. In 1982 he graduated from the Department of Surveying of East China Geosciences Institute and ten years later obtained his Ph.D. from Wuhan University. Since 2011 he serves as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is an academic leader of Innovative Research Groups of National Natural Science Foundation of China.[4]
