Goleta is a passenger rail station in the city of Goleta, Santa Barbara County, California. It is served by Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner from San Luis Obispo to San Diego. Ten Pacific Surfliner trains serve the station daily. Six of the daily trains run on Goleta-San Diego or San Diego-Goleta schedules, either originating or terminating in Goleta. Four of the daily trains are through trains. Trains that terminate in Goleta are stored on a storage track adjacent to the Goleta station.[2]

Originally consisting of a concrete platform and open-air shelter, the station gained a restroom facility in 2008 that was installed through the joint effort of the city, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Amtrak and the Santa Barbara Council of Governments. The station also received bike racks and a new bus turning circle.[3]

Of the 73 California stations served by Amtrak, Goleta was the 31st-busiest in FY2010, boarding or detraining an average of approximately 160 passengers daily.[4]

In 2018, the station was awarded a $13 million TIRCP grant to upgrade the station.[5][6][7]
