Glove Theatre

The Glove Theatre is a historic theatre in Gloversville, New York, that now houses regional theatrical shows.

It was opened in 1914, to accommodate various live performances including vaudeville shows, orchestral concerts, and opera. It was designed in 1913 by Linn Kinne of Utica for Cady & Dartch.[1]

After the theatre's heyday in the 1950s, it closed in the 1970s.

Rejuvenation

In 1995, a plan arose to turn the theatre into a parking lot. A group of volunteers set out to stop this from happening. There was a lot of community support from the city and surrounding areas.
