Giorgi Makaridze (Georgian: გიორგი მაკარიძე, translit.: giorgi mak'aridze, pronounced [ɡiɔrgi mɑkʼɑrid͡zɛ]; born 31 March 1990) is a Georgian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He plays for Rio Ave F.C. in Portugal. He previously played for Dinamo Tbilisi, Le Mans, Doxa Katokopia, Feirense and Moreirense.
Career
Born in Tbilisi, Makaridze began his career in the youth from Dinamo Tbilisi and moved on 10 January 2009 for €800,000 to Le Mans UC72 who signed a four-year contract with a fee from €85,000.[1]
In April 2014 he moved to Doxa Katokopia.[2][3]
In January, 2017 Makaridze joined Rio Ave until the end of the season from Moreirense.[4][5]
International
At age of 17, Makaridze established himself as a great prospect and starter for the Georgia national football team along with other teenagers such as Levan Kenia and Levan Mchedlidze.[6]
