Gimhae Heo clan (Hangul: 김해 허씨; Hanja: 金海 許氏) was one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan was in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province. According to the research in 2015, the number of Gimhae Heo clan was 1340688. Their founder was Heo Yeom. He was a 35th descendant of Heo Hwang-ok who has a possibility of being a queen of Satavahana dynasty and an empress of Suro of Geumgwan Gaya, a first king of Gaya confederacy. He served as a government official during Munjong of Goryeo’s reign in Goryeo and was appointed as Prince of Garak (hanja: 駕洛君).[1]Some suggest that Heo came from Tamil Nadu, this has long been suspected due to many Koreans words that sound similar to the words used in the region, so that’s certainly a possibility. But no one can know for sure, the academia is definitely split as to her origin. The connection between the two cultures is believed to date back to the reign of King Suro and Ayi of Pandya Kingdom in CE 45. Experts don't rule out the possibility of queen Huh taking Tamil culture to Korea with her when she left India. This was said by Korean envoy Kygsoo Kim.
