History of Arabic Literature 1909 - Carl Brocklmann
Geschichte der arabischen Litteratur (GAL) (History of Arabic literature) is a reference work produced by the German scholar Carl Brockelmann. The work is considered a classic of Orientalist scholarship and it remains a fundamental reference volume for all Arabic literature.[1]
The work was published in five volumes (1898–1902) and aims to give a framework which divided Arabic literature into periods and subjects.[2]
