Geraldine Branch

Geraldine Burton Branch (October 20, 1908 – July 22, 2016) was an African American obstetrician-gynecologist who practiced in New York City, NY and Los Angeles, CA. She received her B.S. from Hunter College in chemistry and physics in 1932 and her M.D. from New York Medical College in 1936.[1] In 1962, she received a master's degree in public health from the University of California, Los Angeles.[2] The "Dr. Geraldine Burton-Branch Award" at Charles S. Drew University of Medicine and Science is a merit-based scholarship named in her honor.
