George Town is a town in the Bahamas, located on Exuma island. It has a population of 2,488 (2012 estimates).[1]

The Government Building is a popular tourist attraction inspired by the architecture of the Government House in Nassau. The deep water harbor is a favorite spot for yachters. Pirates used the harbor in the 17th century and plantation owners from Virginia settled the town in the 18th century. During World War II the US Navy used the port. There are a number of shops and markets in Georghe Town. Lake Victoria in the center of George Town is a popular spot for boating.[2]
