William George Howes (1879–1946) was a New Zealand entomologist and businessman. He authored scientific papers on entomology, concentrating on New Zealand Lepidoptera, and described numerous species new to science.[1] The species Molophilus howesi was named in his honour.[2] He was the brother of the author Edith Howes.[3]
