George Gilbert (2 September 1829 16 June 1906) was an English first-class cricketer, active 1851 to 1852. He was born in Cheltenham and, having made his first-class debut in 1851, emigrated to Australia in 1852. He died in Sydney. Gilbert was the elder brother of Walter Gilbert and a cousin of E. M., W. G. and Fred Grace. He made six appearances in 1851 including two for Middlesex and one for the Gentlemen v Players. Having emigrated, he played in a total of twelve first-class matches for New South Wales, all of them against Victoria, over a 19-year period from March 1856 to March 1875.[1][2]
