Geneva Business School (GBS) is a private business school based in Geneva, Switzerland. It has three main campuses in Geneva (Switzerland), Barcelona and Madrid (Spain) and (Kazakhstan) Astana, Almaty and Shymkent[1] as well as an online campus. Founded in 1995 as Institut de Formation de Gestionnaire de Patrimoine to provide education to local bankers [2], the school went on to be renamed as the School of Finance in 2001, and finally to Geneva Business School in 2010 to mark the importance of its location[3].

GBS offers undergraduate, graduate, and research programs in Business Administration and Finance, including an MBA program. Classes are taught 100% in English[4] and there is an exchange program with more than sixty countries around the world in place[5]. Its accreditations include IACBE, AASBI and EDUQUA[6] in recognition of the quality of its business programs.

The School's motto is “Real Business, Future Leaders” to highlight the importance of teamwork and leadership.

History

In 1995, the Institut de Formation de Gestionnaire de Patrimoine was founded in Geneva.[7] The original mission of this new establishment was to educate and train Swiss private bankers. The Institut grew its programs and student body over the next six years and, in 2001, was renamed School of Finance. The School of Finance expanded its focus to provide education in international education and finance.

In 2010, the School rebranded again as the Geneva Business School to reflect its now fully comprehensive suite of business programs offering and its prime location in Geneva.

Since 2012, GBS' growth strategy has seen campuses opening in key regions around the world in an effort to deliver expertise to local markets.[8]
