Geisha J. Williams (nee Jimenez, born 1961/62) is an American businesswoman. She has been the president and CEO of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) since March 2017.[1]

Early life

She was born Geisha J. Jimenez in Cuba.[2][3] At the age of five, Geisha emigrated to the US with her parents, after her father, a political prisoner, was released from prison.[3] Her father worked various jobs to provide for his family and went on to own their own grocery store.[3]

She has a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Miami and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.[1]

Career

After university, Williams worked for Florida Power & Light (FPL), starting as a residential energy auditor.[4][2]

Williams joined PG&E in 2007.[1] She is a director at the Edison Electric Institute, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, and the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, and the board chair for the Center for Energy Workforce Development.[4]

In March 2017, she became the first Latina CEO of a Fortune 500 company.[5]

Personal life

She is married to Jay, and they have two daughters.[2][3]
