Gediminas Orelik (Lithuanian: Gediminas Orelikas) (born 14 May 1990) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Reyer Venezia Mestre of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He primarily plays at the small forward position, but he can also play power forward if needed.

Professional career

At the conclusion of the Lithuanian League's 2012–13 season, Orelik won the league's season MVP award, after averaging 17.1 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, and 21.2 efficiency points per game.[1] On 17 May 2013, it was announced that Orelik signed with Lietuvos rytas Vilnius.[2] On 1 August 2016, Orelik signed with Banvit.[3]

On July 15, 2017, Orelik signed with Reyer Venezia Mestre, for the 2017–18 season.[4]

National team career

Lithuanian junior national team

Orelik was a part of the Lithuanian Under-16, Under-18, Under-19, and Under-20 junior national teams. In 2009, he played alongside Donatas Motiejūnas, and led Lithuania to a 9th place finish at the Under-19 World Cup. In 2011, he won a bronze medal, while representing Lithuania at the 2011 Summer Universiade.

Lithuanian senior national team

In 2015, Orelik was included into the senior Lithuanian national team's extended candidates list.[5] However, he was not invited into the team's training camp later on.[6]

Personal life

Orelik is of Belarusian and Polish descent.[7]
