The Gatún Formation is a geologic formation in Panama. The coastal to marginally marine sandstone, siltstone, claystone, tuff and conglomerate formation dates to the Middle Miocene to Pliocene.[1][2] It preserves fossils, among others, Megalodon have been found in the formation.
