Gary Donnellan (born 3 July 1962) is an English former footballer who played professionally for Watford and Reading as a midfielder.
Career
Donnellan started his career as an apprentice at Chelsea, before being signed by Watford in 1980. Having only made one appearance for The Hornets, he moved to Reading, and then spent some time with Torquay United.
He later joined Wealdstone, famously winning the 1984–85 FA Trophy.[1] After leaving Wealdstone for Yeovil Town in 1987, Donnellan went on to make 123 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals. He was then transferred to Enfield in 1990 for a club record £20,000.[2] He later went on to represent Slough Town[3] and Hendon.[4]
Personal life
Donnellan is the brother of fellow professional footballer Leo Donnellan, and the uncle of Dagenham & Redbridge duo Leo Donnellan Jr and Shaun Donnellan.[5] He currently works as an independent financial adviser at Kingsway Wealth Management.[6][7]
