GameBanana is a video game modding website founded in 2000, originally under the name CSCentral. Over the years, the site has undergone several name and content changes, including CSBanana and FPSBanana. The website provides a number of services, such as the ability to download game mods as well as participate in the community forums and other activities which do not directly involve video games or modding.[1]

History

GameBanana, as it's known today, is one of the biggest modding community ever created. It wsd founded on the name of CSCentral in mid-2000 but only gaining public access in 2001. It was initially focused on the modding of Counter-Strike. Since this website was created, it has been through several name changes, with the most notable transition being from its initial name to CSBanana in the early-to-mid 2000s. It marked an important time because it introduced the capability of uploading modifications for other games rather than only Counter-Strike as it was in the beginning. GameBanana is still an important website even 17 years after its creation.

The Founder

GameBanana was originally created by Sebastian as a fan site for the best selling multi-player shooter Counter-Strike. In the early-to-mid 2000s, on the time that CScentral turned to the name CSBanana, the site administration went to Tom, the current owner of GameBanana. [2]
