Season chronology

The fourth season of Friends, an American sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, premiered on NBC on September 25, 1997. Friends was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. The season contains 24 episodes and concluded airing on May 7, 1998. It was one of three seasons included on TV Guide's list of the Top 100 TV Seasons.

Meanwhile, Phoebe goes to the hospital for the embryos to be implanted into her uterus, leading to a tense wait to find out if she is pregnant.

In 2009, TV Guide ranked this episode #21 on its list of the 100 Greatest Episodes.[2]

Everyone bar Rachel and Phoebe are excited to be going to London for the wedding of Ross and Emily. Upon arrival, Joey bores Chandler during their day of sightseeing, Ross and Emily are shocked to discover that their wedding venue is going through demolition works and Monica tries to persuade Emily to postpone it whilst back in New York, Phoebe's attempts to make Rachel forget about Ross lead to her going to the airport to inform Ross that she still loves him. Later, Ross and Monica surprise Emily by making the ruins into a stunning venue, Joey becomes a little homesick but has one of the bridesmaids to cheer him up whilst Rachel arrives in London and cannot bring herself to tell Ross the truth; Phoebe does her best to phone someone to explain what Rachel is doing. After Monica and Chandler sleep together, things could not get more outrageous - until Ross is standing up at the altar and says Rachel's name instead of Emily's.
