Frances Emily White

Frances Emily White (1832-1903) an American anatomist and physiologist.

White was educated at the Women’s Medical College of Philadelphia in 1872. White went on to become a Demonstrator in Anatomy and Instructor in Physiology from 1872 to 1876. White was became a Professor of Physiology in 1876 until her death in 1903.[1]

White was one of the first women to lecture before the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia and was the first woman delegate to the International Medical Congress 1890.[2] She was a lifelong advocate for women’s education.
