Four Men (Hangul: 사자; RR: Saja; lit. Four People) is an upcoming South Korean television series starring Park Hae-jin.

Synopsis

A female detective who struggles to find out the truth behind her lover's death. In the process, she meets his three identical brothers.

Production

  • The drama was supposed to air on SBS and directed by Oh Jin-seok, but due to scheduling problems, both withdrew from the project.[19]
  • On October 22, 2017, SBS announced their plans to move forward with the drama again,[20] with Jang Tae-yoo of My Love From the Star as director.[21] The series will be pre-produced.[20]
  • Actor Jo Hyun-jae was initially cast but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts.[4]
  • Actress Kyung Soo-jin was initially cast but due to the changes to the character during the editing of the script, backed out of the project.[22]
  • First script reading was held at Nuri Dream Square, Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on December 15, 2017.[23]
  • A press conference was held at Suseong-gu, Daegu on January 11, 2018.[24]
  • Filming began in January and is reportedly going to take place in Daegu and Busan.[25]
  • The drama was scheduled to be aired on MBC, but it was announced on April 27 that it is in discussion to air on TV Chosun instead and will be 100% pre-produced.[26]
  • On July 10, it was announced that the series has halted production as the production company, Victory Contents Co. failed to make payments to staff and cover other expenses.[27] It was revealed that production of the series has been stopped since May due to various issues between the production company and staff, with conflicting statements released by Victory Contents Co. and director Jang Tae-yoo.[28]
  • On July 19, it was announced that Kim Chang-wan has stepped down from the production.[29]
  • On August 8, it was announced that the series will resume filming within the month. Director Jang Tae-yoo has stepped down from the project and would be replaced by Kim Jae-hong.[30]
  • On August 23, Pledis Entertainment revealed that Nana, who was cast in the lead female role,[31] has filed a legal procedure to leave the cast of the drama.[32]
  • On August 25, it was reported that Lee Sun-bin had received an offer to replace Nana's role but declined.[33]
  • On September 20, actress Lee Si Ah has been cast as the female lead Yeo Rin, the role previously held by Nana.[34]
