Forthnet S.A. is an internet service provider which is based in Greece and whose stock is traded on the Athens Stock Exchange.[1] Forthnet was established in October 1995 by Minoan Lines SA and the Foundation for Research & Technology - Hellas (Ίδρυμα Τεχνολογίας και Έρευνας, Ι.Τ.Ε), also known as FORTH. As of 10 March 2017 LARGO LTD holds the most voting rights in the company (32.26%).[1]
On April 14, 2008, Forthnet purchased Netmed, parent firm of NOVA Greece and NOVA Cyprus (DTH satellite providers in Greece and Cyprus).[4] The transaction is valued at 430 million euros. In 2014 Nova Greece had 500,000 subscribers.[5]
From July 2016, a rebranding took place and from now on, the brand name "NOVA" is used for all their services.
