Forres Academy is a comprehensive community school serving the town of Forres, Scotland and its rural catchment area in west Moray. Similar to other Scottish schools pupils are able to leave after the fourth year of schooling, therefore fifth and sixth year are non compulsory. The school is famous for having a link to the community of Mount Dora in Florida.

Description of School

Forres Academy provides students with many good quality facilities in which to work from such as multiple gymnasiums to a music corridor which provides students with the equipment and facilities to learn music. The school has all the facilities you would expect a hall, a canteen, multiple computer rooms and cooking areas for H.E students. Recently the school had a large extension added to the building in which new offices for staff were created along with new rooms for the P.S.E subject. The school also offers a large science department for kids to follow their dreams. They also have an art department with lots of supplies and the best teachers in drama and music. You can get amazing food from the canteen

Catchment area

The school serves the villages of Alves, Dallas, Dyke, Logie, Kinloss (including children of RAF personnel) and Findhorn (including the nearby Findhorn Community)[2]

Some students transfer from an area Rudolf Steiner school.[2]

Location

The school is located next to Forres Swimming Pool and is also near to Applegrove Primary School and is a short walk from both the TESCO store for Forres and the high street.
