Fire Emblem: Three Houses[lower-alpha 1] is an upcoming tactical role-playing video game for the Nintendo Switch. The game is the sixteenth main title in the Fire Emblem series and the first on a home console since 2007's Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and as such features more detailed graphics.[1] The game focuses on four protagonists: Byleth, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude.

Development

Nintendo first announced that a Fire Emblem game was in development for the Switch in an episode of Nintendo Direct they released in January 2017. At that time, an expected release date of 2018 was given for the then-unnamed game.[2] They did not release any further information about the game until a presentation at E3 2018 in June 2018. By this point, the stated release had slipped back into 2019, but the game's name was announced and video footage shown.[3]
