Mujahid Ahmed Bello, (born August 16, 1988) known by his stage name Fancy Gadam, is a Dagbani language Ghanaian afropop, dancehall and reggae musical artiste.[1]

Early life and music career

Early life

Fancy Gadam was born in Hausa Zongo, a suburb of Tamale, the capital town of the Northern Region (Ghana). He completed his education at the police barracks school in Tamale in the year 2004.[2]

Music career

Fancy Gadam started his music career at the age of 12 as a performer at schools and public events. His passion for music grew steadily after school when he started moving from studio to studio in order to develop his beat production skills.[2] Fancy Gadam is said to have been influenced by Davido, Banky W. and Wizkid (musician). He is undoubtedly the most successful artist in the Northern Region (Ghana) with 5 albums to his credit namely Kalipo, Ashili, Nawuni yiko, Takahi and Mujahid.[3]

Notable performances

On 1 December 2017, Fancy Gadam was one of the best performing artists at the S Concert. His sterling performance on the night saw his fans entertained till the early hours of Saturday, the 2nd day of December 2017.[4]

  • Fancy Gadam made a donation of assorted drinks, food and other items to the Yumbass special school, a special school for the needy and the less privileges in the northern region.[15]
  • Fancy Gadam and his management, 5 minutes records made a donation of bags of rice and several assorted items to the national chief imam of Ghana, Osman Nuhu Sharubutu after he was honored the new face of Zongo.[16]

Endorsements

  • In 2016, Fancy Gadam sign a one year deal with Twellium Company Limited, manufacturers of rush energy drink as the brand ambassador for the 3 northern regions of Ghana. He now joins other musicians like Rudebwoy Ranking, Shatta Wale and Kwadwo Nkansah as the brand ambassadors for the fasting-growing energy dink in Ghana.[17]
  • Fancy Gadam was endorsed by the Ministry of Inner City And Zongo Development And The Commission For National Culture as the new Face of Zongo community at the Zongofest 2017, an event that is hosted to honor individuals who have contributed to the development of the Zongo communities in Ghana.[18]
