Fair Field
Fair Field is a 64,000 square feet mansion [1] located in the Hamptons, Long Island, New York. Fair Field is valued at $249 million, making it the most expensive home in the Hamptons, and the 19th largest home in the United States.[2][3]
Fair Field is owned by billionaire investor Ira Rennert. Rennert commissioned the mansion in 1999, however was unable to move in until 2004 due to outcry from the local community.[4] Many neighbours filed a lawsuit claiming that the construction of the estate would have a negative impact on the neighbourhood. After the lawsuit failed, Rennert continued with the construction of the home. However, due to the lawsuit, local town council passed a by law that limited the size of any newly constructed homes in Southampton. As of now, Southampton homes cannot be more than 20,000 square feet in size.[5]
Fair Field has 29 bedrooms, 39 bathrooms, its own power plant, three swimming pools, a synagogue, two courtyards, an orangery, a 164-seat home theatre, basketball court and bowling alley.[6]
