Fadi Ghandour

Fadi Ghandour (born 1959)[1] is the Executive Chairman of Wamda Group, an organization consisting of a Venture Capital fund that invests in technology-enabled companies in the Middle East and North Africa region, Turkey[2] and East Africa.

The son of Royal Jordanian airlines founder Ali Ghandour,[3] Fadi Ghandour was born in Beirut in 1959.[1] He came to Jordan at the age of four, when his father was a political refugee.[4] He graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 1981.[1][3]

In 1982, he founded Aramex, which partners regionally Airborne Express, Burlington Northern, FedEx and Purolator International to deliver packages to hot spots in the Arab region.[1][5] Aramex is a global logistics and transportation provider listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).[6] He stepped down as CEO in 2012.[2]

He is also the Founder and Chairman of Ruwwad for Development, an initiative that helps disadvantaged communities across in Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Egypt overcome marginalization through activism, civic engagement, education and financial inclusion.[1][3]
