The website's critical consensus reads, "Equal parts breezily charming and poignantly powerful, Faces Places is a unique cross-generational portrait of life in rural France from the great Agnès Varda."[9] On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 95 out of 100, based on 19 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".[10]
