FC Shipka (Bulgarian: ФК Шипка) were a Bulgarian football club based in Sofia. In his history the club won Bulgarian Cup once in 1939.[1]

History

The club were formed as FC Sparta on 2 May 1923 as a result of the merger between local teams Pobeda Kyulyutsite and Mefisto. The club were renamed to Shipka on 7 October 1924. Five years later, Shipka earned promotion to the First Division of Sofia for the first time in their history. In 1937 the club won promotion for Bulgarian State Football Championship, where spent three consecutive seasons. Shipka was dissolved in 1944, when was merged with AS 23 Sofia and FC King Boris III in the new club FC Chavdar.[2]
