FCI Pointer Group

The Pointer Group is a designation used, only by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), for a group of dog breeds consisting of Pointers and Setters.

FCI additionally divides groups into subgroups, which the other main English-speaking kennel clubs do not. The FCI Pointer Group is made up of two different sections sorting the breeds by type and country of origin, as shown below.

Section 1 : Continental Pointing Dogs

Section 1.1 : Continental Pointing Dogs

Section 1.2 : Spaniel-type Pointers

Section 1.3 : Griffon-type Pointers

Section 2 : British and Irish Pointers and Setters

Section 2.1 : Pointers
