F&C Asset Management Plc is an international asset management company and is part of BMO Global Asset Management.

F&C’s head office is in the City of London in Exchange House, Primrose Street, London.

History

F&C can trace its roots back to 1868, when Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust, the world’s first investment trust was launched. In 2014 F&C Investments became part of BMO Global Asset Management, and ultimately the BMO Financial Group.[2]

Operations

F&C Investments currently have over 25 offices in 14 countries around the world.

F&C have four regional investment hubs, in London, Toronto, Chicago and Hong Kong, as well as a number of itinerant investment teams.

With 10 investment trusts, F&C Investments offer investments including equities, bonds, property and private equity. F&C trusts have different aims and strategies with the option of capital growth, income or a combination of both and with a specific regional focus or with a global remit

Ownership

On 7 May 2014, F&C Investments was acquired by Bank of Montreal through its wholly owned subsidiary, BMO Global Asset Management (Europe) Limited. Prior to this it was listed on the London Stock Exchange.[3]
