Ezra Butler (born November 20, 1984)[1] is an American football linebacker who is currently a free agent.

Football career

Butler played college football at Nevada.[1]

He was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent on 2008 and would later spend the 2009 season with the Las Vegas Locomotives.[2]

Butler who had signed with the New York Jets in January 2010,[3] was later waived by the team on July 29, 2010.[2] He was waived by the Saints on September 5, 2011.

On January 9, 2014, Butler signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.[4] On May 21, 2014, Butler was placed on the retired list.

On October 7, 2014, Butler was signed to a practice roster agreement with the Argonauts. On November 4, 2014, Butler was released by the Argonauts.

Personal life

In 2008, he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. Now is a defensive coach at West Hills High School in Santee. Ca[5] He is the son of Jonathan Butler, a two-time Grammy nominated guitarist, songwriter and music producer.[1]
