Ezhilagam is a five-storey building located on Kamarajar Salai, opposite University of Madras, in Chepauk, Chennai. It houses various government departments.
List of offices located in the building
The following are some of the offices located in the building:[1] Land Administration, Directorate of Backward Classes Welfare, State Planning Commission, Commercial Taxes, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Commissionerate of Revenue Administration, and National Informatics Centre.
Incidents
On 15 June 2010, a fire broke out on the third floor of the building at around 4:55 pm, when smoke started to emerge from the roof of the Joint Commissioner's (Revenue Administration) room. The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit. The fire was extinguished in 45 minutes. No one was injured in the incident.[2]
