Eve is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Tate Taylor and written by Matthew Newton. The film stars Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Common, and John Malkovich.

In August 2018, it was reported that Tate Taylor had been hired to direct the film, replacing Newton.[1] In September 2018, Colin Farrell, Common, and John Malkovich joined the cast of the film.[2][3] In October 2018, Falk Hentschel joined the cast of the film.[4]

Filming

Principal photography began on September 24, 2018 in Boston.[2][5]

Controversy

In August 2018, the film drew immense criticism due to Matthew Newton, who at the time was set to direct, having multiple allegations of assault and domestic violence, as well as a guilty plea to assaulting his then girlfriend Brooke Satchwell. Jessica Chastain, a vocal advocate of the MeToo movement, was accused of hypocrisy for working with Newton.[6] Newton would ultimately exit the film, with Tate Taylor hired to replace him.[7][8]
