The Evangelical Baptist Mission of South Haiti (Mission Evangélique Baptiste du Sud d'Haïti in french) is a Baptist Christian denomination, affiliated with the Baptist World Alliance, in Haiti. The headquarters is in Les Cayes, Haiti. MEBSH is also a member of the Protestant Federation of Haiti and the Evangelical Council of Haitian Churches.

History

Evangelical Baptist Mission of South Haiti began with the opening of a Bible College by a team of independent missionaries from Cuba in 1928. [1]The organization was officially formed in 1936 in Les Cayes. [2] [3][4]

In 1993, the Lumière University was founded by the Mission. [5][6]

Since 2012 the president of the Evangelical Baptist Mission of South Haiti is Rev. Alnève Emile, who succeeded Rev. Luders Erase for a five-year term.

In 2012, it has 488 churches and 60,000 members. [7]

The MEBSH operates numerous educational, health and development institutions in Haiti.
